Do you remember how much I loved you

Once upon a time.  At thirteen we vowed

Unending and undying love.  Who would believe

G-d would take you from me so soon.

Love never dies.  It goes on and on forever and

Always.  That's the way it should be, I

Suppose.  Looking back I still remember the

Kisses on the cheek and the memories

Everlasting that we shared.  Above all else, the

Love you gave continues to radiate through me.

Looking at the mementos I saved and thinking of

You is all I can do to keep us close at heart.

 

Finding you was the very best thing that happened

In my life.  You taught me everything I ever

Really needed to know about love and relationships.

Still I use what we shared as the benchmark.

Thinking about the words you said and the

Look on your face, I remember as if it were yesterday.

One moment, forever frozen in time, a memory

Vividly preserved with love and care keeps you

Eternally close to me in my heart always and forever.

 

So many times I've questioned the true meaning of

Eternity.  Losing you made me question every

Coincidence and seemingly random happenstance.

Once I had the opportunity to be back with you.

Now I wonder what might have been.  I never

Dreamed life would play out this way.  Miracles

Can and do happen.  You told me once.  I know

Heaven must exist.  I've been there with you.

Always is not just a word.  It's a promise and a

Neverending commitment.  Eighteen years and you

Could never be taken.  Your love was still there.

Even now I feel you.  The warmth of your smile.  Circles

Surround my wrist.  Next to the broken hearts....

The Service The news is spread far and wide Another comrade has sadly died A sunset vigil upon the sand As a soldier leaves this foreign land We stand alone, and yet as one In the fading light of a setting sun We've all gathered to say goodbye To our fallen comrade who's proved us why The speakers read about his life Sometimes with words from pals or wife We all know when the Service is done And what kind of soldier they'd become The padre then calls us all to pray We will recall, with pride, their name A minute's silence stood in place As tears roll down the hardest face Complete silence fills the air With each of us in personal prayer The hero is remembered, forgotten by none.

I am home in heaven, dear ones.

This is a Poem I wrote

Time has past,
Yet still you weep,
Tears from a broken heart,
A hurt I cannot heal.

In a star filled sky,
I watch over you,
Your nightly vigil of words you speak to me,
I hear you, I see you.

I am still here,
At night while you dream,
Soft whispers shall you hear

 and comforting hugs shall you feel,
In my hopes to ease your pain.

Every tear that falls,
Every cry in the night,
I feel with all I still am,
My comfort comes to you as you rest.

I see you look to the clouds,
I hear you speak in the rain,
I know you sense me there,
By the contented smiles I glimpse.

Take peace in knowing,
For the years you protected me,
It is I now who protects your heart,
As I now watch over you.

We danced to this song the last time we saw each other before he left for the Navy.  We went to hear a friend's band play and I remember where we were and how we danced together.  This past December at the company holiday party, the band played this song....
